Meet Steve of Breads for Good!
All Breads for Good bagels, cinnamon rolls, and Chelsea buns will be 10% off Wednesday, February 10th through Sunday, February 14th!
We first discovered Steve and his bagels at the Western Wake Farmers Market - a bagel was Kira's top choice every week. She also appreciated that Steve would ask for her feedback and take that into account as he continued baking and improving his products! We carry his bagels (Rosemary & Olive Oil and Nutella bagels have been the favorites so far), his cinnamon rolls with butterscotch and pecan topping, and his Chelsea buns currently with raspberry and white chocolate filling. He brings an impressive depth of flavor to the bagels by starting with a beer or kombucha base. Come try some this week!

Meet David of Cedar Creek Sauce Co.!
All Cedar Creek Sauce Co. products will be 10% off from Wednesday, February 3rd through Sunday, February 7th!
The Cedar Creek BBQ sauces have been in stock and a huge hit since day one! We have heard great feedback from many of our customers. We have three different flavors - Smokehouse Original (bold and smoky), Southern Twang (Carolina-style mustard), and Outlaw (vinegary kick). Come try some this week!
Here is the story of Cedar Creek from David:
The year was 1749. Three immigrant brothers from Germany first stepped foot on this sacred ground we now call America. One of those three brothers was my 5th great-grandfather, George Hoffman. These brave men brought with them three things, a thirst for freedom, a love for working the land, and a love for a Bavarian delicacy: pork shoulder with a sweet and sour vinegar sauce. Eight generations later we still have a thirst for freedom, we still love working the land, and we still love pork shoulder with BBQ sauce. Our hand-crafted sauces, once only enjoyed by our family and friends, are now available to you!
There's a new sauce company in town, and we ain't playing by the rules. We refuse to use artificial colors, artificial flavors, or cheap sweeteners, like high-fructose corn syrup. We use real, simple ingredients, the way it’s supposed to be. Although our sauce recipes were crafted by me, our family’s legacy lives on in every bottle we sell. From our family to yours, GET SAUCED Y'ALL!

The Apex Seafood & Market story from Tyrone:
Who would have thought that an idea that emerged and that I implemented in August of 2017, would bring us to this point? What idea? The idea of bringing locally sourced and healthy seafood to Apex and surrounding cities, towns and communities. Apex was one of the few cities in the triangle that didn't have a place to purchase raw, fresh seafood. I had heard and witnessed the residents voice their concerns, that they wanted access to purchase raw, fresh seafood, but didn't want to drive to Cary or Raleigh for it. They stated that if there was only someone local that provided raw seafood, then they would definitely support him. The rest of history.
Being a graduate of NCSU (GO WOLFPACK!!!) with a degree in Animal Science, and having knowledge through taking several classes that pertained to seafood and nutrition, I am able to assess what is quality seafood. This enables me to provide THE FRESHEST and THE BEST seafood products to my customers. My logo and motto says it all...We are, Apex Seafood & Market: The Peak of Good Seafood!!!
We officially started selling our seafood products April 21, 2018 at the Apex Farmer's Market, and have grown to selling our products to include the Holly Springs Farmers Market, the Midtown Farmers Market, the Moore Square Market, the Saturday Market at Rebus Works, Market Sundays at Copeland Springs Farm and Kitchen, the Black Farmers Market, and recently, at ELK Local Foods!
We are HACCP Seafood Certified, 100% mobile company that DOES NOT have a brick and mortar location.....yet! We travel down to the NC Coast a few times per week, depending on customer demand, to hand select seafood that was caught by fishermen, less than 24 hours prior. We offer meetups, delivery, online ordering through our website, shopping at the farmers market, or shopping at ELK Local Foods. Don't miss out on THE FRESHEST seafood in the triangle!
Meet the Plantnrgy family!
All Plantnrgy products will be 10% off Wednesday, January 20th through Sunday, January 24th!
Looking for a plant-based protein powder? We have three flavors from Plantnrgy - Vanilla Green, Chocolate Bliss, and the newly introduced Chocolate Peanut Delight. We have been enjoying them in our oatmeal and yogurt! Also try Golden Dream, a plant-based superfood mix that makes a delicious, warm cup of golden milk that is perfect in the evenings. We are thrilled to carry these healthy products in our store from this wonderful family!
The Plantnrgy story from Sumita:
Small batch. Handmade. Family-owned.
Growing up, I witnessed many family members struggle with diabetes, including my father, whom I lost to the disease. Conscious of ingredients and a smoothie fanatic, I struggled to find a clean source of protein to add to my breakfast. The available products had added sugar or were overwhelmingly filled with unnecessary ingredients. I set off to create my own, and after months of experimentation, Plantnrgy was born, featuring a line of plant-based protein and superfood mixes that help develop a strong immune system, healthy muscles and boosts everyday energy. Eat mindfully. Stay healthy.
Come into the store to pick up recipes for Golden Milk and Brownies from Sumita!
Meet Lynn and Mike of Andreas Homestead!
All Andreas Homestead chicken will be 10% off Wednesday, Jan 13th through Sunday, January 17th!
Many of you are already familiar with Andreas Homestead through the Apex Farmers Market, Holly Springs Farmers Market, or Friendship Winter Market. Their chicken is locally raised on pasture with soy-free feed. We are so happy to carry their chicken at our store!
Here is the story of the farm from Lynn:
We came into farming, not through a family history, but through a desire to feed ourselves. Having grown up in North Carolina, as a young married couple, we took off for Los Angeles to make our mark on the Entertainment Industry. We began to question where our food comes from after living with the Rodney King riots, the Northridge Earthquake and multiple earthquakes, fires and floods. We realized, especially after the Northridge Earthquake we were heavily dependent upon our grocery stores. That earthquake shut down all bridges in and out of the Los Angeles are until they could all be inspected for safety. That meant no food in or out for several days. Not too long after that we started a small children's garden and had four laying chickens we hatched from eggs as a homeschool project.
Eighteen years after moving to Los Angeles, we decided it was time to head home. Our sons were middle school age and we were ready to get out of the rat race. After moving to Apex and then to our little Homestead, we finally got the chance to try and feed ourselves as much as possible. This little dream of ours grew into our business which is Andreas Homestead today.
Our mission envisions a lifestyle that creates health: healthy land with healthy animals making a healthier you. Health is tied not only to what you eat but the quality of that product.
Here we raise and process chicken, duck, turkey and goat. We raise them on pasture with an organic soy free feed and use floorless pens to protect our birds. These pens protect the birds from predators like raccoons, fox, coyotes, opossum, roaming dogs and hawks. The pens are moved often so the birds are always on fresh ground. The by product of having the birds in these movable pens helps us to regenerate our pastures. They are putting down manure which helps to feed the soil, which grows the grass, which draws the bugs that feed the birds.
Raising the birds on pasture allows them to be, well… birds. They scratch, peck, eat bugs and grass. In movable, floor-less pens our chickens live happy, healthy lives. Happy chickens lead to healthier meat. A healthy environment eliminates the need for antibiotics creating a better product for the consumer. We do not use GMOs or commercial feed! Keep in mind that organic means non GMO but non GMO does not mean organic.
We are registered with the NC Department of Agriculture as a Small Poultry Producer, which allows us to process all our poultry on farm. Processing by hand on our farm, our birds avoid the stress of transporting, waiting at the processor and exposure to possible contamination of pathogens from birds from other farms. We are able to avoid exposure to any chemicals used at the processor and are able insure our birds are handled humanely.
Our goats happily graze on forage in the fields and woods. Moved as needed to allow the fields and forage to recover from grazing, the goats happily follow us from pasture to pasture especially when we bring a few little treats along as rewards. They love to nibble on the blueberry bush as we walk by and eat apples, sweet potatoes, and pumpkins from our hands.
